BT Cut Cost Of Broadband Packages

You are in: Home > Broadband News > BT Broadband News > BT cut cost of broadband packages

From the 29th March, BT are offering 8Mb broadband from just £8.95 a month so long as you sign up to an 18 month contract. The package comes with a 5Gb monthly download usage allowance and optional free evening and weekend UK calls over the internet. The £8.95 per month price applies for the first 6 months after which it increases to £17.99 a month. Basic security and free wi-fi minutes are also included.

BT's price cut comes amidst intense competition between the UK's broadband providers that has been driven by the high profile launches of Virgin Media and Sky Broadband's Surf, Speak and See package.

BT still retains the broadband market lead though with over 3.7 million customers, closely followed by Virgin Media (formerly known as ntl and Telewest).
