France Telecom owned Orange have today launched a new home landline phone service together with new best value wireless broadband packages.
There's three new wireless broadband and phone packages to choose from, called Orange Home Starter, Orange Home Max and Orange Home Select. At £12 a month, Orange Home Starter is its entry level 2Mb unlimited wireless package for customers who want to keep their existing fixed line phone supplier but still want to move over to Orange Broadband. Included are evening and weekend home phone calls to UK landlines.
Orange Home Max at £24 a month includes unlimited 8Mb wireless broadband, telephone line rental, evening & weekend calls to UK landlines using your home phone, plus a second line for landline and international Internet calls using the Orange Livebox. Customers taking Home Max will also benefit from the launch of Orange digital TV later in the year.
Orange Home Select sits in between for those who just want a stand alone 8Mb unlimited wireless broadband package, with the option of making free Internet calls using the Orange Livebox, it costs £20 a month.
The move to offer its own home phone line rental and call services is a big shift for the telco as it looks to change its mobile only perception in the market. The launch is being backed by a five million pound TV, press and poster campaign that breaks today.
