O2 Broadband launched on the 15th October 2007 with prices ranging from £7.50 a month to £25 a month for speeds up to 20Mb. Its home broadband service is available to just over 50% of the UK population where Be (the broadband provider they purchased in June 2006 for £50m) has unbundled the local BT exchange and installed its own equipment - a process known as Local Loop Unbundling (LLU).

Our Final Comment And Rating For O2 Broadband Packages
O2 have long been criticised for its delay in entering the UK home broadband market with the official line being 'they wanted to get it right'. It looks like the delay may have been worthwhile as they've come up with a range of packages that seek to address the current problems being experienced by UK broadband users. They're providing clarity on the likely broadband speeds you'll receive and are offering that all important 24/7 UK based customer and technical support that is free of charge. The monthly charges for all three package speeds are reasonable even for non O2 mobile customers while its reported that setting up O2 broadband is really simple. Overall, if you're looking for a value for money broadband only package with the highest speed possible, then O2 are a good bet. Make sure you order an O2 broadband package online before the 31st July 2008 as you won't have to pay a connection charge, plus you'll receive a 50 day money back guarantee.
