Through its purchase of Wanadoo back in 2006, the company became a triple play operator, providing deals on unlimited wireless home broadband, home landline phone calls which remove the need to pay BT line rental separately (Orange Home Max package only) and mobile phone services - all under the Orange brand.
Free Orange Broadband With Any Orange Pay Monthly Mobile Phone Plan
The Orange broadband package called 'Home Starter' is now free with any pay monthly (PAYM) Orange mobile phone plan with a minimum £15 tariff. With Orange Home Starter you can get up to 8Mb broadband plus evening and weekend home phone calls to UK landlines. A free wireless router is also included while the £30 broadband connection is also waived. These are in areas where Orange has unbundled the local BT telephone exchange - known as the Orange Broadband network area. | Orange's new range of wireless home broadband and home phone packages represent a determined effort by the company to position itself as a home communications provider as well as a mobile supplier. Through its wholesale telephone line rental agreement with BT, Orange now offers a broadband and home phone bundle called Home Max that includes its own telephone line rental, at a total cost of just £13.79 a month. This is good value as it includes evening and weekend landline calls using your home phone, plus a second line for anytime Internet calls to UK landlines and 30 international destinations using the Orange Livebox router and your Orange broadband connection. If you don't need a second line Orange Home Starter is a good bet. Now free with any Orange pay monthly mobile phone plan, it provides up to 8Mb broadband with evening and weekend landline calls using your home phone included. The broadband has a 10Gb monthly download usage allowance so if you're a heavy downloader of films and music, you may be better off going for Home Max or even Home Select which both have unlimited download usage allowances, though a fair usage policy does apply. |
