| Orange's new range of wireless home broadband and home phone packages represent a determined effort by the company to position itself as a home communications provider as well as a mobile supplier. Through its wholesale telephone line rental agreement with BT, Orange now offers a broadband and home phone bundle called Home Max that includes its own telephone line rental, at a total cost of just £12 a month for the first 3 months. This is good value as it includes evening and weekend landline calls using your home phone, plus a second line for anytime Internet calls to UK landlines and 30 international destinations using the Orange Livebox router and your Orange broadband connection. If you don't need a second line or a broadband speed up to 8Mb, Orange Home Starter is a good bet at just £6 a month for the first 3 months for up to 2Mb broadband with evening and weekend landline calls using your home phone included. The broadband has a 6Gb monthly download usage allowance so if you're a heavy downloader of films and music, you may be better off going for Home Max or even Home Select which both have unlimited download usage allowances, though a fair usage policy does apply. |
