Plusnet Fibre uses technology known as 'Fibre to the Cabinet' or 'FTTC' which connects telephone exchanges to street cabinets using fibre optic links. The resulting faster network can be used to deliver more bandwidth-hungry broadband services with speeds up to 40Mbps and download usage allowances up to 120GB.Recent customer trials of Plusnet Fibre have seen 74% of users triple their broadband speed from 2-12Mbps to speeds of 30Mbps or more.
The faster Plusnet Fibre service offers greater bandwidth capacity which is perfect for households with multi-broadband users. People can enjoy simultaneous use of internet services such as catch-up TV, social networking and online games without any problems. Higher-quality streaming of services such as the iPlayer, YouTube and iTunes is also achievable.

Plusnet currently offer two standalone fibre optic broadband packages called Plusnet Value Fibre and Plusnet Extra Fibre.
