The Post Office broadband deals are slightly more expensive than the leading low-cost broadband providers, however, this is more than offset by the superior experience you will receive from the Post Office, both in the set up of your broadband connection and the ongoing broadband service itself. This is largely due to the Post Office's multi million pound wholesale deal with BT to provide this service, which means you know your broadband is going to be in good hands. The Post Office currently offer two stand alone broadband packages costing from £15.95 a month for up to 8Mb download speeds. Monthly download usage limits vary from 5Gb for Post Office Broadband Standard to unlimited usage with Post Office Broadband Extra (a fair usage policy applies). There's no set up or connection fee while a free modem or wireless router is included as standard, plus 24 hour UK technical support. It's worth noting that a fixed non cable landline (e.g. BT) is required for Post Office Broadband, though the Post Office will install a new telephone line for £110 should you be on cable.Post Office Broadband Standard

| The Post Office broadband only packages plus broadband and home phone deals are worthy of serious consideration despite the company's late entrance to the UK broadband market. In particular, the broadband and home phone packages represent excellent value for money as they include your telephone line rental cost, meaning there's no need to pay BT separately for your line rental (you just get one bill from the Post Office). These packages provide serious competition to similar offerings from the likes of TalkTalk and Tiscali, with the added benefit being that they are available for the same price across the UK (regional pricing does not apply). It's also refreshing to only have to sign up to a 12 month contract as similar deals from other ISP's require an 18 month contract tie in. There's also a range of flexible payment options including paying at your local Post Office. All in all these are good value packages that are simple to understand. |
