Talk Talk is the home phone company from The Carphone Warehouse. Following the launch of its free broadband & phone call packages back in April 2006 and its acquisition of the AOL internet access business back in October 2006, the company has grown to become the UK's 3rd largest broadband ISP.

MyTalkTalk is a revolutionary new product from Talk Talk that lets customers build their own home phone and broadband package - which means they only pay for the features they want. At the core of MyTalkTalk is a home phone and broadband essentials package that includes up to 8Mb broadband, unlimited evening and weekend phone calls to UK landlines, free anytime calls to all TalkTalk customers and free local daytime calls (70% of UK landline calls are to local numbers) - all for just £6.49 per month.

Customers can then upgrade & personalise this core package by choosing up to six additional 'Boost' products to suit their requirements. Customers can upgrade their speed, download limits and internet security whilst also choosing great phone deals such as anytime phone calls, half price mobile calls and calling features. Each 'Boost' costs just £4 per month and can be added and removed at any time.

Our Review Of The My Talk Talk Broadband & Phone Packages

By switching your phone line rental to Talk Talk and taking their new MyTalkTalk home phone & broadband essential package you can get up to 8Mb broadband, plus evening/weekend UK landline phone calls and free local daytime calls. The total cost per month you will pay is £6.49, plus your usual £11.25 per month telephone line rental (this is not an extra cost, you pay this currently with your existing telephone provider e.g. BT). You'll get a free wireless router worth £30, plus free anytime calls to other Talk Talk customers.

Please note that the Talk Talk packages outlined above and below are a selection only. More 'Boost' combinations are available at TalkTalk.co.uk. It's also worth noting that Talk Talk Broadband is currently available to 80% of UK households. These are in areas where the company (Carphone Warehouse) has unbundled the local BT telephone exchange. In you live in an area not served by a Carphone Warehouse unbundled exchange, you will have to pay an additional £15 a month on top of the costs outlined here.

Our Final Comment And Rating For Talk Talk Broadband Packages
In our opinion the new MyTalkTalk Essentials package with 'Boosts' represents the best value broadband and phone call packages currently available on the market - offering significant savings compared to other leading suppliers and great flexibility. It's worth noting that Talk Talk's well documented customer service problems caused by the huge demand for its broadband and phone packages has now eased considerably. During the last year the company has made significant investments in its customer service and technical divisions with the benefits really being seen now. It's certainly a better time to order with them and with MyTalkTalk you only pay for the features you want - that's certainly what customers need as the credit crunch bites and the recession hits.
